The legal clinic in MSD succeeded in getting a reunification decision for the wife of Mr. A’rafa Ahmad A’rafa, Mrs. Kholud A’rafa after more than 2 years of waiting and procrastination.
In 19, May 2014 her husband came to the legal clinic and asked to submit a reunification application for his wife, who had lived in Abu Deis, then his request was accepted and a lawyer in the clinic took his case.
In 16, June 2014 the husband brought the required papers to the lawyer, and on the same day, the lawyer sent the request for the family reunification, the oath and an agency in the name of Mr. A’rafa to the Ministry of the Interior, and after sending several reminder messages to the Interior Ministry which responded after more than a year, in 27, August 2015 the lawyer sent a request to expedite the response under the request of Mr. A’rafa, and after more than two months they received a reply from the insurance stating that the request is under examination.
After waiting for another year, and sending several reminder messages to the Interior Ministry, in 2, June 2016 the ministry called the legal clinic to tell that they would meet Mr. Kholud in an appointment in 7, June 2016 at 9:00 am., then the lawyer informed Mr. A’rafa about this date, and to put a prior date for them to meet in and prepare the necessary papers for the interview.
In 8, June 2016, Mr. A’rafa called the lawyer to tell him that he and his wife attended the meeting; they were interrogated and informed to wait the response from the Interior Ministry. After a month of the meeting, the ministry called to tell that they would meet Mrs. Kholud again in 17, July 2016, then she and her husband attended this meeting, and they were informed to wait the response from the ministry.
In 19, July 2016, the ministry called to tell that Mr. A’rafa got the reunification for his wife Mrs. Kholud, the lawyer told Mr. A’rafa this news, and told him to be present in the ministry in 21, July 2016 to get the approval. In the scheduled date, Mr. A’rafa went to the ministry but they were afraid of any postponing, but they got the decision which had changed their lives and the future for them and their families.
