MSD conducted a training on “The Role of the Educational Specialist and the Teacher in Preventing Students from Addictive Behaviors”, within the “Prevention of Addictive Behaviors”- Unplugged program which is conducted in the schools of Jerusalem. This training conducted in the targeted schools in this program, and the head of the awareness and guidance department in the Drug Control Administration, the lieutenant colonel Mr. Thafer Salah Al-Dein attended this training.
At the beginning of this training, they talked about the Unplugged program, its aims, its importance, the life skills which the students will learn and gain from this program, and the technique of work and interventions with the students and teachers. Mr. Thafer talked about their roles in the legal and awareness aspects, which interconnected some how with Unplugged program.
At the end of the training, there was a brainstorming to talk about the signs and indicators, by which the educational specialist could indicate a drug abuse case, or even a behavioral deviation among school students, and how should the educational specialist behave if there was a case.
